Lighting without cables
Battery Operated Outdoor Lights for Gardens Without Cabling
Light a finished garden without lifting paving or cutting a trench. Battery powered, solar charged fittings are placed where the light is needed, then kept in good order by the same team that looks after the planting.
Planned, installed and maintained by us, across Cyprus, whether you are on the island or not.
The garden is finished, and the cable never went in
The paving is laid, the irrigation is buried, the olives are in place, and only then does it become obvious that the garden goes dark at eight. Adding a mains circuit now means lifting slabs, cutting a channel across a lawn that has just taken, and working around a pool surround nobody wants disturbed. Most owners quietly give up and live with a single harsh light by the door.
Battery powered fittings look like the simple answer, and the shelves of the local DIY shop are full of them. Then the first summer arrives. Sun that would bleach a deck sits on a thin plastic panel all day, salt air works on the fixings, and by the second season half of them light for twenty minutes and stop. The owner is left with a row of dead posts along a path and no confidence that the next set will behave any better.
There is also the question of where the light should actually fall. A villa garden is not a straight run of path. There are steps, a change of level, a driveway turning circle, a seating area under a pergola, and planting that looks dull when lit flat. Without someone reading the garden first, battery lights end up spaced like fence posts, and the result is a lit boundary with a dark middle.
Each lamp carries its own panel and battery. Nothing is trenched, nothing is metered, and the switching happens by itself at dusk.
What separates these from supermarket solar stakes
A store sells the light and disappears
We install it, and we come back to maintain it. That is not a promise about the product, it is a checkable fact about how we work, and it is the one thing no box shipper can offer.
Numbers instead of adjectives
Not premium quality but IP65, Corten steel, 3000 lumens, made to order in three to four weeks. Numbers can be checked, which is exactly why they can be believed.
Honest about the battery
Batteries age. That is physics, not a defect. Ours are replaceable, spares are kept in stock, and we fit them for you.
These are the fittings we reach for when there is no cable and no appetite for digging. Each one charges from its own panel and runs on an internal battery, so siting is decided by the garden rather than by where a supply happens to end. We match output to the job: low and warm along a path, stronger where a driveway or entrance needs to be read from a distance.
Asked before ordering
In practice, yes, for the fittings we install. Each unit holds a rechargeable battery, and that battery is charged by an integrated solar panel during the day rather than from a mains supply. You are not swapping in disposable batteries every few weeks. The battery is a serviceable part and is replaced at intervals as it ages, which we cover during maintenance visits.
No electrician and no trenching. The fittings are free standing or fixed to an existing wall, step or post, so paving, lawns and irrigation lines stay where they are. That is the main reason owners choose them for a garden that is already complete.
Shorter winter days mean less charge going in, so run times are naturally shorter than in July. Siting matters more than anything else: a panel shaded by a carob or set under a pergola will underperform whatever the season. We assess sun exposure on site and place units accordingly, and where a spot simply does not receive enough light we will say so rather than fit something that will disappoint you.
It starts with a free initial consultation at the property, where we walk the garden after dark if that helps. We then prepare a written proposal covering the fittings, siting and installation. Installation itself is typically a single visit for a garden of ordinary size, though larger plots and resort grounds usually run longer. Every order is invoiced. We do not quote figures before seeing the site, because output, quantity and access all change the picture.
Angelos runs our maintenance side, and battery lighting slots into the same visit schedule as the rest of the garden: panels wiped clean of dust, fixings checked for salt corrosion, batteries replaced as they reach the end of their useful life. Pambos handles the consultation and the written proposal if you would like to start there.
