Villa Garden Lighting

Low Voltage Garden Lighting Schemes for Cypriot Villas

Three brothers turning Mediterranean landscapes into living art, with lighting layouts designed so a Cypriot villa garden still works after sunset.

Planned, installed and maintained by us, across Cyprus, whether you are on the island or not.

Why most villa gardens go dark after sunset

You bought the villa for the evenings, yet the garden stops at the edge of the terrace. Once the sun drops, the olive tree, the planted bed and the far wall vanish, and the pool surround becomes a place nobody walks to. The indoor lighting spills out and flattens everything it touches, so the garden reads as a black gap rather than an extra room.

Then there is the practical side. Steps and level changes become guesswork, the driveway turn is hard to judge, and guests arriving late feel their way along a path they cannot see. Most owners answer this with a handful of shop bought stakes pushed into the soil. A season of Cypriot sun, dust and salt air later, half of them lean, dim or simply stop, and the light that remains is a cold, scattered glare pointed at nothing in particular.

The deeper issue is that lighting was never planned alongside the planting. Cables were not thought about before the paving went down, beam angles were never matched to the shape of a cypress or a mature bougainvillea, and nobody decided which parts of the garden should stay quiet and dark. Without that plan, adding more fittings only adds more brightness, not more atmosphere.

Each lamp carries its own panel and battery. Nothing is trenched, nothing is metered, and the switching happens by itself at dusk.

Why Not Just Order a Box

What separates these from supermarket solar stakes

A store sells the light and disappears

We install it, and we come back to maintain it. That is not a promise about the product, it is a checkable fact about how we work, and it is the one thing no box shipper can offer.

Numbers instead of adjectives

Not premium quality but IP65, Corten steel, 3000 lumens, made to order in three to four weeks. Numbers can be checked, which is exactly why they can be believed.

Honest about the battery

Batteries age. That is physics, not a defect. Ours are replaceable, spares are kept in stock, and we fit them for you.

The Lamps We Quote Here

These are the fitting types we most often specify for villa schemes in Cyprus, chosen for warm output, sensible beam control and housings that cope with coastal air. Every scheme is drawn for your own garden first, then the fittings are selected to suit it.

Good To Know

Asked before ordering

It refers to fittings running at a reduced voltage rather than directly off mains circuits, usually fed through a transformer or, in many Cypriot gardens, powered by an integrated solar panel and battery. The practical benefit is lighter cabling, easier routing through planted beds and fewer trenching works across finished paving. Which approach suits your villa depends on the garden layout, the sun the site receives and what is already built, so we look at all of it during the first visit.

Both are used, often in the same garden. Solar suits far corners, boundary walls, driveways and mature planting where running a cable would mean lifting stone or cutting through beds. Wired low voltage tends to suit terraces, steps and areas close to the house where a supply already exists. We usually plan a mix and explain the reasoning for each zone in writing before anything is installed.

Less than most people expect. The aim is to guide the eye and make level changes readable, not to floodlight the plot. We generally keep path and poolside light low, warm and shielded so it does not glare across the water or into bedroom windows, then use a small number of directional fittings to pick out trees, walls or planting. Warm tones tend to sit better with Cypriot stone and Mediterranean foliage than cool white.

Coastal Cyprus is demanding on outdoor fittings, which is why we specify sealed housings with a suitable IP rating and materials chosen for salt exposure rather than whatever is cheapest. Positioning matters as much as the product itself: keeping panels clear of irrigation spray, dust traps and sprinkler throw makes a real difference over time. We also set out a simple cleaning and checking routine so the scheme keeps performing.

It starts with a free first consultation at the property. Pambos handles client contact, planning and the written proposal, Marios leads new build and construction work, and Angelos looks after ongoing maintenance. Every project is costed individually, so pricing follows the site visit and the agreed scheme rather than a list. Timescales are given as typical ranges once we know the scope.
