Poolside and outdoor living
Solar Lights Outdoor for Pool Surrounds and Outdoor Living Areas
Low glare solar lighting that lets you use the pool deck, the terrace and the shaded seating areas long after sunset, with no trenching across finished stone.
Planned, installed and maintained by us, across Cyprus, whether you are on the island or not.
The pool looks beautiful until the sun goes down
Most villa pool surrounds in Cyprus are designed for daylight. The stone is laid, the loungers are placed, the planting is in, and then at around eight in the evening the whole area simply disappears. People stop using the space they paid the most for, or they light it with a single harsh floodlight that turns the water black and throws hard shadows across every step.
Getting mains cable to a finished pool deck is the second problem. The paving is down, the coping is sealed, the irrigation lines are already routed, and cutting a channel through all of that to reach a lamp position on the far side of the water is disruptive and rarely reversible. Owners who are not on the island full time also have to think about who supervises that work.
Then there is the environment itself. Splash, chlorine or salt water, sun on the same surface every day, and the salt air that reaches most coastal plots. Fittings chosen for a cooler climate fade, corrode at the fixings and stop performing, so the area ends up half lit again within a couple of seasons.
Each lamp carries its own panel and battery. Nothing is trenched, nothing is metered, and the switching happens by itself at dusk.
What separates these from supermarket solar stakes
A store sells the light and disappears
We install it, and we come back to maintain it. That is not a promise about the product, it is a checkable fact about how we work, and it is the one thing no box shipper can offer.
Numbers instead of adjectives
Not premium quality but IP65, Corten steel, 3000 lumens, made to order in three to four weeks. Numbers can be checked, which is exactly why they can be believed.
Honest about the battery
Batteries age. That is physics, not a defect. Ours are replaceable, spares are kept in stock, and we fit them for you.
For pool surrounds and outdoor living areas we tend to combine three things: soft ground level light at the water edge, discreet accents on planting and walls, and a small number of posts to mark the routes back to the house. These are the pieces we specify most often for this kind of space.
Asked before ordering
For pool surrounds the aim is usually the opposite of maximum brightness. Too much output on wet stone creates glare and reflection off the water. We plan lower output units close to the water edge for orientation and safety on steps and coping, then use a small number of brighter posts or accents further back to define the seating area and the route to the house. During the free initial consultation we walk the space with you and agree the levels that suit how you actually use it.
That is exactly why fitting selection matters more here than the headline lumen figure. We specify sealed outdoor rated units with materials chosen for coastal and poolside conditions, and we position them so that they are not sitting in constant splash or in the path of the pool cleaning routine. Sensible siting does as much for longevity as the specification does.
In most cases no. Solar units are self contained, so there is no cable run across finished paving and no trenching through your pool deck or planting beds. If your layout mixes solar with existing mains circuits, any work on those circuits is handled by a qualified electrician.
It depends on the size of the terrace, the number of levels and how much planting is involved. Typically a single pool surround is a short on site visit rather than a project, but we only confirm timing once we have seen the space and prepared a written proposal for you.
We are based in Paphos and work across southern Cyprus, from Polis and Peyia through Limassol and Larnaca to the Famagusta area resorts. Pambos handles the first contact and the proposal, so you deal with one person from the enquiry through to planning.
