The grid connection costs more than the road
Plenty of Cyprus villas and small developments sit at the end of their own access road. Lighting it the wired way means a grid connection, metering, and a cable trench for the whole length, often through land that is not even yours to dig.
A solar street lamp needs a concrete footing and sunlight. The 6.8 watt panel on top of each lamp is the entire electrical installation.
Each lamp carries its own panel and battery. Nothing is trenched, nothing is metered, and the switching happens by itself at dusk.

This is the job our street lamps were made for. 3000 lumens on a 3 to 4 metre pole, spaced 8 to 10 metres, with a motion sensor that raises the light when a car passes and saves the battery when nothing moves.

Asked before ordering
Every 8 to 10 metres for continuous light. If you only need the entrance and the turning point lit, we place them there and leave the rest dark, which is often the better looking answer.
Yes, that is the point. Each lamp charges itself and switches itself on at dusk. There is no cable back to anywhere, so distance from the house changes nothing.
The battery holds around three nights of charge, and Cyprus rarely offers more cloud than that in a row. On a poor winter week the lamp dims before it dies, and the motion sensor stretches the reserve further.
