Garden Lighting
Large Outdoor Light Fittings for Villa Gardens and Courtyards
Tall posts, park lamps and street lamps sized for generous plots, walled courtyards and villa frontages, planned and fitted by the Knodaritis brothers.
Planned, installed and maintained by us, across Cyprus, whether you are on the island or not.
Small fittings get lost on a big plot
A villa courtyard with high walls, a broad gravel forecourt or a terrace that runs the full width of the house swallows light. Low path markers that look right in a photo of a small suburban garden simply vanish once they are set against a two storey elevation, mature olives or a long boundary wall. The result is a garden that reads as a series of faint dots at night rather than a space you can actually use after dinner.
Scale is only half of it. Fittings that are physically large but thinly made tend to show every weakness of a Cyprus summer and a coastal winter: bleached housings, corroded fixings after a season of salt air, heads that drift out of line in the wind, and lenses that have gone milky by the second year. Owners who have already replaced a set of imported fittings once are usually reluctant to do it again.
Then there is the question of how the light gets there. On an established garden, trenching cable across finished paving, planted beds and a lawn that has only just knitted together is disruptive and often the reason a lighting plan is quietly abandoned. Many owners who bought a villa with an empty garden find themselves choosing between a bright plot and an intact one.
Each lamp carries its own panel and battery. Nothing is trenched, nothing is metered, and the switching happens by itself at dusk.
What separates these from supermarket solar stakes
A store sells the light and disappears
We install it, and we come back to maintain it. That is not a promise about the product, it is a checkable fact about how we work, and it is the one thing no box shipper can offer.
Numbers instead of adjectives
Not premium quality but IP65, Corten steel, 3000 lumens, made to order in three to four weeks. Numbers can be checked, which is exactly why they can be believed.
Honest about the battery
Batteries age. That is physics, not a defect. Ours are replaceable, spares are kept in stock, and we fit them for you.
For larger spaces we work mainly with tall, substantial solar fittings that carry real output rather than decorative glow. These are the models we specify most often for courtyards, forecourts and long frontages in Cyprus, chosen for height, build and how they behave through a full year outdoors.
Asked before ordering
It depends on the width of the space, the height of the surrounding walls and how much light already spills from the house. Rather than guess, Pambos walks the garden with you after dark where possible, marks positions and sets out a layout. We confirm the number and the mix of heights in the written proposal that follows the free initial consultation.
The solar posts and park lamps we fit are self contained, so there is normally no trenching across finished paving or planting and no new circuit from the house. Marios and his team handle the ground fixing and alignment. If a project also calls for wired fittings, we say so clearly at planning stage and bring in a qualified electrician for that part.
Height and exposure are the first things we look at on a coastal plot. We select heavier posts, set the foundations for the location rather than to a standard detail, and specify finishes intended for salt laden air. Angelos covers the fittings in the maintenance visits, which is where cleaning of the panels and checking of fixings happens.
We do not publish figures, because the number of fittings, the ground conditions and the access on site vary too much from one villa to the next. Every project is calculated individually and you receive a written quotation after the free initial consultation. Each order is invoiced.
For a single courtyard or frontage it is typically a short job, often completed within a day once the fittings are on site. Larger plots with several zones usually run longer. We give an indication of the likely span in the proposal and confirm dates with you rather than commit to a completion date before the site has been seen.
