Villa Lighting Design

Solar Outdoor Lighting for Cyprus Villas: Where Every Light Belongs

Three brothers, one Paphos workshop, and a simple belief: the best outdoor lights for a house are the ones you never notice until the sun goes down.

Planned, installed and maintained by us, across Cyprus, whether you are on the island or not.

The garden looks wonderful until about seven o'clock

You bought the villa for the evenings. The terrace, the pool, the smell of the pines once the heat drops. Then dusk arrives, somebody flicks on a security floodlight above the back door, and the whole garden turns into a car park. Everything beyond the glare disappears. The olive tree you paid good money for might as well not be there.

So you try to fix it in pieces. A set of stake lights from a shop in town, four of them, two already leaning. A string of bulbs across the pergola that the first proper meltemi takes down. Something solar that glowed bravely for one summer and now sulks by October. None of it was planned, so none of it agrees with anything else: different colour temperatures, different heights, different ideas about where the eye should go.

And underneath all that sits the wiring question nobody enjoys. Trenching across a finished garden, chasing cable through a boundary wall, coordinating an electrician around a pool pump. Plenty of owners simply stop there and live with the floodlight, which is a shame, because the problem was never the budget. It was that no one had decided what each light was for.

Each lamp carries its own panel and battery. Nothing is trenched, nothing is metered, and the switching happens by itself at dusk.

Why Not Just Order a Box

What separates these from supermarket solar stakes

A store sells the light and disappears

We install it, and we come back to maintain it. That is not a promise about the product, it is a checkable fact about how we work, and it is the one thing no box shipper can offer.

Numbers instead of adjectives

Not premium quality but IP65, Corten steel, 3000 lumens, made to order in three to four weeks. Numbers can be checked, which is exactly why they can be believed.

Honest about the battery

Batteries age. That is physics, not a defect. Ours are replaceable, spares are kept in stock, and we fit them for you.

The Lamps We Quote Here

We specify by job, not by catalogue. A path wants gentle, low, repeated light. A frontage wants height and presence. A specimen tree wants a tight beam from below and nothing else. These are the solar fixtures we reach for most often on villa projects across Cyprus, all independently powered, so the garden stays undisturbed.

Good To Know

Asked before ordering

Fewer than most people expect. A typical villa scheme uses a handful of low posts along the main route to the door, one or two spotlights on a tree or wall texture, and something soft at the pool surround or steps. Over lighting flattens a garden. We walk the plot with you at dusk during the free initial consultation and mark positions before anything is ordered.

Cyprus gives solar fixtures an unusually generous light budget, and the units we specify are sized for shorter December days rather than for a perfect June. Placement matters more than the specification sheet: a panel shaded by a carob branch or a north facing wall will underperform whatever the label says. That is a large part of what the site survey is for.

No mains connection is involved with these fixtures, so there is no trenching across lawns, no cable through the boundary wall and no coordination with the pool plant. That also means an established garden can be lit without being taken apart, and lights can be repositioned later if the planting grows into them.

Every garden is quoted individually, because a courtyard in Kato Paphos and a two level plot above Peyia are not comparable jobs. We look at the site, agree what each light is doing, and then put a written quotation together. The initial consultation is free and carries no obligation.
