Oroklini
Oroklini sits on the coast immediately north of Larnaca, a popular residential and tourist area where suburban villas mix with holiday rentals and a small but established expat community.

Three decades of luxury landscaping tailored to Pyla's specific microclimate, soil, and character.
Pyla occupies a unique position in Cyprus — one of only a few villages where Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities lived together throughout the partition era, and where today the village still has a slightly different character than purely Greek-Cypriot communities. From a gardening perspective, Pyla is straightforward coastal Cyprus: hot summers, mild winters, sandy coastal soils, and a residential mix of Cypriot family homes and expat-owned villas. Our work in Pyla tends toward family gardens that combine practical outdoor living (covered terraces, kitchen gardens, sometimes small fruit orchards) with ornamental design. The proximity to the British Sovereign Base of Dhekelia adds a small but reliable expat client base of military and civilian personnel posted to the area, often looking for low-maintenance gardens that survive the periodic moves these families make.
Coastal Larnaca climate. Drier than the western coast, hot summers, mild winters, moderate humidity.
Sandy coastal loams, well-draining, low organic matter. Soil amendment is essential for ornamental beds.
Three decades of work in this microclimate has taught us what succeeds — and what to avoid.
Sandy soils with low organic matter require structured fertilisation and amendment programmes.
Periodic relocation of military families creates client patterns where gardens must look complete quickly rather than mature over decades.
Wind exposure from the open coast is moderate — not Marina-scale, but enough that establishment-stage plantings benefit from staking.
About our garden services in Pyla
Yes — for clients with shorter-term ownership horizons (military postings, expat assignments) we use larger nursery stock, instant-effect mature specimens, and dense initial planting to create the 'established' feel within one season rather than waiting for natural maturation.
More an opportunity for the right plants. The drainage is excellent, which suits Mediterranean species perfectly. The low organic matter is the constraint — we add 50-100mm of well-rotted compost to ornamental beds at establishment, and top-dress annually thereafter.
Anything requiring rich, moist soils — most ferns, classic English perennials, hydrangeas, and lush tropicals. Stick with Mediterranean and sub-tropical drought-tolerant species and the garden will look spectacular.

Larnaca is Cyprus's gateway city — home to the international airport, the famous Salt Lake with its winter flamingo population, and a coastal residential character distinct from both Paphos and Limassol.

Kiti sits south of Larnaca, a coastal village whose Byzantine church (Angeloktisti, with its 6th-century mosaics) is a UNESCO-protected reminder of how deep this place's history runs.

Liopetri is one of the most genuinely traditional villages in the southern Famagusta district — a working community with a small fishing harbour at Potamos tou Liopetriou, productive agricultural surroundings, and a residential character almost untouched by the resort development of Ayia Napa just 10 km east.
