Tala
Tala is one of the most established expat villages in Cyprus — a hillside community above Paphos with sweeping sea views, cooler evenings than the coast, and a settled, garden-loving residential character.

Three decades of luxury landscaping tailored to Tsada's specific microclimate, soil, and character.
Tsada is Cyprus at its most refined — a hillside village at 600m elevation, home to the prestigious Aphrodite Hills' sister golf course (Minthis Resort), and host to some of the most thoughtfully designed luxury estates on the island. The altitude transforms the gardening climate completely: nights here can drop to 5°C in winter, summer afternoons rarely exceed 30°C, and the entire seasonal rhythm shifts toward something a temperate gardener would recognise. This opens a Mediterranean-plus palette: beyond the standard olive and lavender we can grow roses that bloom for eight months, lavender hedges that don't burn out by July, and stone fruits that produce reliably each year. The trade-off is exposure: Tsada feels the wind, sees occasional frost, and demands more thoughtful winter protection than the coast. Gardens here reward the careful eye — and we build them for owners who understand that a hill-village garden in Cyprus is closer to a Tuscan landscape than to a Caribbean one.
600m elevation: cool nights (occasionally near freezing in January), mild summers (rarely above 30°C), more rainfall than the coast (~600mm), pronounced spring and autumn seasons.
Deeper, more fertile than coastal Paphos. Mixed limestone and clay with naturally higher organic content from forest decay. pH 7.2-7.8.
Three decades of work in this microclimate has taught us what succeeds — and what to avoid.
Frost protection becomes seasonally important — bougainvillea and other coastal favourites need winter coverings or sheltered placements.
Higher rainfall and clay-rich soils combine to create drainage challenges that don't exist on the coast.
Wind exposure on ridge plots is significant; mature trees need staking through their establishment years.
About our garden services in Tsada
Yes — but a more refined one. The cooler climate allows true lavender hedges, repeat-flowering roses, peonies, and stone-fruit orchards that struggle on the coast. We adjust the palette toward higher-altitude Mediterranean species (those native to the Tuscan or Provence highlands) rather than the strict Cyprus-coast palette.
Occasionally — typically 2-5 nights per winter with temperatures near or below freezing. We design for this with sheltered placements for tender species, frost-cloth protection protocols, and species selection that prioritises hardiness.
On exposed ridge plots, yes. We design windbreaks using hardy Mediterranean evergreens (cypress, holly oak, olive) at the windward perimeter, creating sheltered microclimates within the property where less hardy species can thrive.

Tala is one of the most established expat villages in Cyprus — a hillside community above Paphos with sweeping sea views, cooler evenings than the coast, and a settled, garden-loving residential character.

Peyia rises above Coral Bay into a hillside village of expat villas, panoramic sea-view terraces, and a microclimate distinctly cooler than the coast below.

Kissonerga sits on the coast between Paphos and Coral Bay — a quieter residential village with a strong agricultural heritage (banana plantations were once a defining feature of the area) and an evolving mix of family homes and newer villa developments.

Paphos is where our family has tended luxury gardens for three decades — a UNESCO World Heritage city where ancient mosaics meet bougainvillea-draped villas, and where the Mediterranean climate produces some of Cyprus's most spectacular gardens.
